Terms of use
On this page
These terms apply when you use the Vinpit website and member services: your account, adopting a vine, the shop, booking a call, the community and Ask Vinpit. By creating an account you agree to them. Please read them with our privacy policy, which explains how we use your personal data.
1. About us
Vinpit is run by LET'S DRINK NATURAL COMPANY LTD ("Vinpit", "we", "us"), [To confirm with Amy: address]. Contact us at info@vinpitwines.com or through the contact page.
2. You must be 18 or over
Under the law of Hong Kong, intoxicating liquor must not be sold or supplied to a minor in the course of business.
根據香港法律,不得在業務過程中,向未成年人售賣或供應令人醺醉的酒類。
You may only use Vinpit, create an account, adopt a vine or buy wine if you are 18 or over. When you confirm your age on the site and when you open an account, you declare that you are 18 or over. We may ask for proof of age before handing over wine, and we will not hand it over if we have reason to doubt it. Please enjoy wine responsibly.
3. Your account
- Give us accurate details and keep them up to date.
- Your account is for you alone. Keep your password private and tell us straight away if you think someone else has used your account.
- You can sign out of every device, and delete your account, from your account page. An account can't be deleted while it has a paid or deposit-paid adoption in progress, or if it is a staff account: write to us and we will help.
- We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, after telling you why where we reasonably can.
4. Adopting a vine
- When you adopt a vine you support one vine at our partner vineyard for one season and receive what the adoption page describes at the time you reserve: for example wine from the harvest, your own label and updates from the vineyard through the season. The page you reserve from, and your confirmation, are part of your agreement with us.
- Adopting a vine doesn't give you ownership of the vine, the land or the vineyard.
- Places are limited. A reservation holds your place while you pay. If payment isn't completed in the time shown, the reservation lapses and the place is released.
- You can pay a deposit or pay in full. Prices are in Hong Kong dollars and include everything the page says they include. [To confirm with Amy: when and how the remaining amount is paid after a deposit (A4).]
- Wine is a natural product. Weather and nature affect every harvest, so the character and, in a difficult year, the quantity of the wine may differ from what we expect. [To confirm with Amy: what members receive if a harvest is much smaller than planned.]
- Your label design must follow the community house rules (section 7) and must not use material you don't have the right to use. We may ask you to change a design that doesn't.
- Delivery or collection: [To confirm with Amy: areas, fees, pickup point and timing (A8).]
- Cancellations and refunds: [To confirm with Amy: cancellation and refund rules for deposits and full payments (A9).]
5. Buying wine
- Wine is only sold to people aged 18 or over (section 2).
- Prices are in Hong Kong dollars. We try to keep prices, descriptions and stock accurate. If we make an obvious mistake, we will tell you before we accept your order and you can cancel.
- Your order is accepted when we confirm it. If a wine sells out after you order, we will tell you and refund what you paid for it.
- Delivery: [To confirm with Amy: areas, fees, free-delivery threshold, pickup point (A8).]
- Returns and refunds: [To confirm with Amy: returns, damaged or faulty bottles and refunds (A9).]
6. Booking a call or meeting
- You can book a call with us, or a meeting at events such as our booth at the Hong Kong International Wine & Spirits Fair. Times are Hong Kong time (HKT).
- You can change or cancel a booking online until shortly before it starts, as shown on the booking. If we need to move or cancel it, we will tell you by email.
7. The community and house rules
Members can share posts, photos, video links and comments. Everything you share can be seen by other signed-in members. Please keep the community a good place to be:
- Be kind. Respect other members and the people who make the wine. No harassment, hate or personal attacks.
- Stay on topic: wine, the vineyard, food and the people around them.
- No selling, advertising or spam, and no links that try to sell something.
- Respect privacy. Don't share other people's personal details, and only post photos of people who have agreed to it.
- Only share what you have the right to share, and nothing illegal, misleading or sexually explicit.
- Drink responsibly. Don't encourage drinking by anyone under 18, or drink-driving.
You keep ownership of what you share. You give us a free, non-exclusive permission to show it on Vinpit, in the community and to members, for as long as it stays on the site. You can edit or delete your own posts and comments at any time.
You can report a post or comment that breaks these rules. We review reports and may remove content that breaks them, without notice. We may suspend members who break them repeatedly. Removing content doesn't mean we agree with everything we leave up.
8. Ask Vinpit
Ask Vinpit is an assistant that answers questions about Vinpit, our wines and adopting a vine, using AI. Its answers can be wrong or incomplete: check anything important with us. It doesn't give medical, legal or financial advice. Please don't share sensitive personal information in your questions. We may limit how many questions each member can ask in a day.
9. Using the site fairly
Don't misuse Vinpit: no attempts to get into accounts or systems that aren't yours, to interfere with the site, to copy it in bulk by automated means, or to use it for anything unlawful.
10. Our content
The text, photos, videos, design and the Vinpit name and logo belong to us or the people who licensed them to us. You may view and share pages for your own personal use, but not copy or use them commercially without our permission.
11. Our responsibility to you
We provide Vinpit with reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for losses we could not reasonably foresee, or for events outside our reasonable control, such as weather affecting a harvest, or delays by carriers and service providers. Nothing in these terms limits any right you have as a consumer under the laws of Hong Kong, or our liability where the law doesn't allow it to be limited.
12. Changes
We may update Vinpit and these terms. When we change these terms we publish a new version here, with the date it took effect. If a change matters to you, we ask you to read and accept the new version the next time you sign in. If you don't accept it, you can stop using Vinpit and delete your account.
13. Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. If there is a problem, please contact us first and we will try to put it right. Otherwise the courts of Hong Kong will decide.
14. Languages
These terms are available in English and Chinese. If the versions differ, the English version applies.
