Keltis
Their story
Keltis is one of the trendiest organic wine producers from Slovenia. His wines are macerated and not filtered, full of flavor and still easy enough to understand to satisfy every type of the drinker. The estate produces up to 20,000 bottles per year and was mentioned in “Amber Revolution” Simon J. Woolf as recommended producers
Situated close to the Croatian border, this estate is historically part of Lower Styria. At the end of the 1980s Marijan decided to focus on winemaking and thus created the Keltis brand, under which in 1989 he bottled the first wines and entered the market as a boutique winemaker. His son Miha eventually took over the leading role in the wine cellar. His first very own wine was Cuvée Extrême 2009 (2 months’ skin contact), which took the excellent 2nd place at the festival of orange wines in Vienna.
Keltis is a beloved wine of Head Sommelier of the renowned Hiša Franko restaurant, which was recently awarded 2* Michelin, and was on Netflix Chef’s Table.
